The phenomenon of Sheffield band scored their third album of their career, " Humbug." Their debut was disruptive in 2006 with " Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not " immediately brings a seccesso unpredictable. Their sound post-punk turned into something fresh and new-rock scene index, and it was confirmed with the second album "Favourite Worst Nightmare . Now there was a need to change, to mature, to do the famous leap. The 10 songs that comprise "Humbug " mark the beginning of their experimental phase, distancing from the short burst of early aggressive, offering a darker sound, more directed to a hard rock 70s if you want.
The album begins with "My Propeller", featuring a hypnotic guitar riffs and powerful bass. Wonderful introduction to the first single, "Crying Lightning," one of those songs that at first listen does not come immediately, but more and more like the following. The entire disc is very nice, and although there is around some critics that he has already struck down, I always like more with every listen: ATTRACTIVE the melody of "Secret Door " and "Little Liar Dance" (my favorite) , the propulsive rhythm of "Approaching Potion." The last track, "The Jeweller 's Hands", is a long slow takes a bit of surprise, but confirms that the entire work is the result of various musical influences.
Excellent disc!
