Radiohead have made available their new song on their official website Radiohead.com . The song is called ' Harry Patch (In Memory Of) ' and is dedicated to Harry Patch, the longest serving soldier to have participated actively in the First World War, who died last July 25 at the age of 111 years. Who was Harry Patch: Hydraulic before the First World War, became a prominent figure in the United Kingdom. Fighter in France in 1917, has survived two wives, a third partner, both of his sons, and virtually an entire generation, and that in itself makes her figure somehow 'mythical'. But Harry, after up to 100 years had always avoided talking about the war since 1998 has also become a symbol of pacifism, bitterly criticizing the war years as "legalized mass murder."
There were many significant statements Patch widely, both in terms of reflection on the war on life. So much so that in ' Harry Patch (In Memory Of) ' text is a collection of quotations from various statements of the same ex-soldier.
The download piece costs a pound, and the proceeds will go to the Royal British Legion, the charity for the benefit of war veterans. Streaming music can be heard here
